Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born on August 19 1965, is an American actress. She is also a producer and director. Her most famous character is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her performance as Johnson. The seventh season of the series ended on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) The Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are as well. Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian as well as of English heritage. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and says she is a member of Passover seders.
